IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR PROCEDURE

You will always be given local anesthesia for your oral surgery, but you may choose other anesthesia options as a supplement if your medical history allows. Each choice requires different preparation on your part. For your safety, our oral surgeon believes it is important that you read and follow the instructions carefully. If you are unclear about anything, please ask us prior to your scheduled surgery date.

For all outpatient oral surgeries, please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Tops/shirts should have sleeves that are easily drawn up above the elbow. To learn more about our impacted teeth or wisdom tooth extraction procedures, feel free to contact our dental office today!

Instructions for After Oral Surgery

Be sure to check out our forms for more guidance on what to do after you have visited our oral surgeon. These forms cover how to care for your mouth and what to avoid. We go over details on how to handle any bleeding, swelling, and pain that you may experience. We also cover which foods you are permitted to eat, how to mitigate nausea, how to maintain proper hygiene in your mouth, and other relevant details you may need after oral surgery.

Please be sure to read through this information carefully and reach out to our team if you have further questions regarding any postoperative effects. By following our instructions, your mouth is more likely to heal faster and recover the way we want it to.

Depending on the oral surgery that you receive and how your body reacts, you may experience different symptoms after an oral surgery. For example, some people, may experience little to no pain after oral surgery, but others may not be as lucky. Additionally, some individuals may have more or less bleeding. If you have any additional concerns that are not covered by our forms, please get in touch with our office. We wish for your swift recovery and will do all we can to address your concerns. For any emergency situations or concerns you may have, our 24-hour answering service is available.
